BookTalk: The Shining

The Shining
The Shining is about a man named jack and his families troubles while he is being the caretaker of a hotel in Colorado called The Overlook. Jack used to be an alcoholic, and was fired from his teaching job after he struck one of his students. This takes him to the Overlook. Jack's wife and his child danny are kind of a very odd family Danny has these mind powers kind of like schizophrenia and he has an imaginary friend named Tony who shows him the future and other things. Thoughout the story things at the Overlook get weirder and weirder Danny and Jack start seeing people and eventually Jack loses his mind and tries to kill his family....
I am kind if on the fence for this book i did enjoy reading it and it was very thrilling but sometimes you had  no idea what was going on or who was doing something or if you were in a flashback or not. I would recomend this book if you like Stephen King books or mystery thrillers.

  1. I saw the movie and thought it was very interesting in a wierd way, but I'm sure watching the movie and reading the book have different experiences behind them. Reading the book would be the better route to go because it seems like it is more descriptive.
